For those of you who have not had the privilege of knowing and working with Rene, then you owe it to yourself to experience her incredible passion for helping people and her unselfish caring.

I met Rene while I was undergoing chemotherapy treatments at the McKinney cancer center. Who knew that this special lady would change my life during this time, and for the better.

No one really prepares you for everything that your body is going to go thru. You know it’s going to be hard but you never know exactly what to expect or when to expect it. The doctors tell you that your hair will fall out but nothing more. And believe me there is so much more. After meeting Rene she had me come to her shop one evening and talked to me and explained every question and concern that I had. She has this look in her eye that you cannot mistake. The look is one of care, concern, compassion, and love. She didn’t know me at all but it did not impact how she worked with me and prepared me for what was to come.

I was hospitalized shortly after beginning my treatments and in the hospital I realized I was losing my hair. I had hair on my pillows, on the floor, everywhere. It was horrifying to me but Rene kept telling me, don’t let your hair loss control you and your emotions. You decide when it’s time for it to go. You still have control over that decision. So I called her and told her what was happening and she immediately came to my hospital room and in the privacy of that room she shaved my head. We both cried and hugged and she smiled and said, it’s going to be fine. When you compare a doctors visit to you in the hospital and see what they charge you and you don’t necessarily feel any better because of that visit, to Rene’s visit and how much better you do feel and realize she does not charge you anything then it certainly doesn’t take a lot of talent to figure out the better deal.

She left me with scarves, instructions, a smile and her phone number.

During my journey with cancer I have had many dealings with Rene. She does the look good feel good classes. She helped me with ideas on how to make myself feel better. What to expect, skin care advice and any other questions I have she answers with care and patience. When you see Rene in this environment you can see and hear the compassion and passion in what she does.

She donates wigs to whoever may need one. I have seen her and her staff on numerous occasions at the cancer center with wigs for any patient that may want or need one.

She has this amazing gift that she is sharing with cancer patients everywhere. She makes a difference, she impacts our lives. She tells you how pretty you are even when you know that’s not how you are feeling at the time. You can email her, call her or stop by anytime, she always makes time for you.

I know in my heart that Rene has found her calling in life. Her purpose. She has this huge heart and a caring way that is necessary in helping patients with this horrible disease. She never asks for anything in return.

I have been out of my wig for a week now. And here I am again at her salon saying what’s next. Can’t handle the wig anymore but the hair is really short and not very attractive. She colored me, cut me, hugged me, and sent me on my way. And when I left, the feeling that I had inside was amazing. I felt wonderful. I still have along way to go and the journey is hard but with Rene by my side she makes it just a whole lot easier.

So when you are looking for amazing services, a wonderful staff, a caring and just a huge extended family feeling you owe it to yourself to visit Rene.

You will find the extension of Rene in her staff with their professionalism, their caring ways and their can do attitude. They all work to make your visit a memorable one and you will leave just feeling great. Her services are so extensive and she is adding more and more each day. When you are ready for that special night, or that I just need a lift today feeling you will find that and more with Rene.
